Hey, I just found this community. My name is Sarah, and I'm seventeen. I love to sew, and I'm kind of obsessed with American social history between 1945 and the early 70's, which very much includes the clothing of the era. For a long time I've been wanting to make a dress in the style of late 50's/early 60's; one with a full skirt and petticoat and tight bodice. I've got the skirt and petticoat pretty much down, but the bodice is giving me a bit of trouble. I've been trying to find general information on sewing fitted tops for dresses (just simple ones, nothing fancy), but so far I haven't had much luck. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice or pointers about sewing simple dress bodices without a pattern. Thanks!

I know this is almost a year old. Did you ever finish that dress?
